Our Programs
Intergenerational music education and creative opportunities in the San Luis Valley.
Youth Grant Program
The Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) offers arts grants to middle and high school students in Saguache County.
Up to $500 in the first applicant year and $300 in later years can support lessons, instruments, supplies and educational camps in music, dance, theatre and fine art.
Apply once per year. Applications are reviewed in October; awards are made in November. Amounts are maximums, not guaranteed awards.
Performance Opportunities
We support existing youth programs, sponsor participation and create opportunities through Youth Open Mic and other events—helping young people build confidence, creative skills and musical experience.
School Shows
Educational and multicultural presenters bring music, dance, theatre and creative discovery to schools across the San Luis and Arkansas valleys.
Past programs have ranged from Taiko drumming, flamenco and African music to marimbas, theatre, circus, planetarium and robotics experiences.
Music in everyday life.
All-ages workshops and local educational jams bring neighbors together. We buy music books for the library and sponsor Weekly Toddler Song and Story Time.
We participate in Trunk or Treat, Crestone Energy Fair and Fourth of July events, and produce Crestone Music Festival, established in 1999 to encourage cultural and economic enrichment in our community.
